ON TARGET ~ Target Marketing for Network Marketers

Ninety-seven percent of all network marketers fail, many because they are not equipped and prepared to build a successful business. Most people in the home based business industry start their business with a goal to find financial freedom and time freedom. The few that succeed enjoy true independence.

Have you found yourself spending yourself out of business; buying expensive leads, useless e-books or placing unproductive ads?
Stop flushing your money down the toilet.

Are you discouraged and think that you're just not cut out for this business? You ask, "Why can't I recruit just one person?"

It's not you. It's the industry.
No one is born knowing how to become a successful network marketer. Network marketing is a simple business but it is not an easy business.

Okay, so you have placed killer ads, you have written great articles, joined groups, started a blog. You've done everything your upline leader has told you. It's been months, and you still have not seen the "fruit of your labor".

What is wrong? Why haven't you had any success?
Are you the only sucker that isn't making money?
Your upline sponsor is making thousands, why not you?

It's not you and I can help.

The first step to improve your conversion rate in the network marketing or internet marketing business is to learn how to identify your target market.

This is very important. Do not skip this step, it is the foundation of your entire marketing system.

Let me ask you this; can you sell dentures to a man who has a nice set of teeth?
Can you sell a steak to a vegetarian? How about diet pills to a skinny person?
No! That's because a man with a nice set of teeth does not need dentures. nor the vegetarian a steak, the skinny person does not want diet pills! You would have a much better chance to sell dentures to a toothless man, steak to a meat eater, and diet pills to an overweight person. Here's the secret: give them what THEY want.
Target Marketing, you bet.

Here's how:
In a nutshell, let them know that you have what they are looking for. Only speak to those who are interested.

For instance, network marketers understand the concept of network marketing and the way it works. But just try to recruit your family, friends, and neighbors? Will they buy? Most likely not. NO way. They will run the other way and stop taking your phone calls. Why? Because they are not your target market, if you want to succeed, show your business to people who are looking for a business. How that's done is a different subject for another article.

Are you targeting those who want a business or your product or your family, friends, and neighbors. Are you mis-targeting your market? That doesn't mean you can't talk to your family, friends, and neighbors about your business. Do so, but only when the opportunity shows itself. Your main focus should be marketing to those looking for that you are promoting. Stop beating your head against the wall, stop convincing and start attracting. This applies to every product or service you represent. If your product is health and nutrition products then you should market to the health conscious and people who are already spending money on health products.

Focus your marketing efforts to find the people who are looking for you and your products. Look for lookers. Distinguish yourself from the pack by solving their problem. Know your target market.

Aim, Shoot, and Hit your Target Market.

Network Marketing Leadership Styles

Hand Holder vs. Tour Guide

Which system are you using to sponsor new team members holding hands or guided tour?

What’s your leadership style? Are you a hand holder or a tour guide?

Network marketing is a people business and it is easy to get side tracked and find yourself counseling and motivating instead of the leading, empowering and coaching. Network Marketing is a business of relationship not a relationship business.

"Leadership is not magnetic personality, that can just as well be a glib tongue. It is not "making friends and influencing people", that is flattery. Leadership is lifting a person's vision to higher sights, the raising of a person's performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond its normal limitations." — Peter F. Drucker

Do you hold people's hands through your sponsoring process or do you simply send them to your site and assume that they are bright enough to find their way around it?

Is your motto: If they can't do it themselves do I really want them on my team?

Do you baby sit or empower? Are you creating an atmosphere of dependency or a team of business associates?

I prefer a balance, to lead not manage. I was drawn to network marketing because I wanted a business without the headache of having employees. Why would I try to manage now? Never handhold your prospects, instead guide your qualified prospects through your information system.

Here’s why.

People who require excessive hand holding rarely become leaders in your organization. Excessively needy prospects will inevitably eat up too much of your time. Clear them out!
Search for business-minded prospects that are coachable, who are driven by desire and take action. Spend you time with these and guide them through your training. Don't send them there blindly and expect them to sign-up. That seldom happens.

There are reasons for this. While many replicated websites look great, many present too much information and they tend to get lost in bombardment of advertisement going on today.
If you want to sponsor more of the "right people", take a few moments and guide your prospect through your information system.

Lead them through your training and show them how to increase their earnings and build their own business. This is leadership. This guided process is also training your new distributor how to train their new distributors.

Don’t allow your prospect to get bogged down with information overload. Show them the key areas to focus on to make an informed decision about their financial future.
If you generally just send people to your site, but are not sponsoring people every week into your business, now you know why. Follow through with a system of Find them, Guide them, then Lead them... never baby sit.

The 4 C's to Successful Network Marketing

Capture, Cultivate, Close, and Coach.

There are four basic steps to success in online marketing and network marketing. Build your marketing plan around these 4 strategies and your business will thank you for it.

Remember them as the four C's.
They are Capture, Cultivate, Close, and Coach.
Use them to form a success marketing roadmap.
The 4 C's will work whether your business is direct sales,
e-commerce, mlm, network marketing, online and offline.

Let me begin by saying that I did not come up with this idea. I do not want to take credit for inventing these steps. What I can take credit for is the success I enjoy by using the 4 Cs in my business. I hope this article will save you frustration and make you a lot of money in the process.

First, you must CAPTURE your audience. Yes, I refer to your potential customers and down-line as your audience because an audience makes a choice to attend. If you are a member of the audience at a concert, movie, ballgame...etc., it is because you want to be there. You are interested in what is going on! Begin by attracting those who are interested, maybe even already involved in the MLM or online business. Look for people who are looking. People like you. Do not, I repeat, do not waste your time and energy trying to "sell" your business opportunity or product to people who are not interested. It is just not worth your time, it is a waste of time. Move on.

There are many ways to find people who are looking. They are searching just like you were. Try the Internet, personal connections, and leave or hand out brochures. There are many ways to market your business so that those who are truly interested will gravitate to you and your products. It may take a while to get the ball rolling, but once your momentum begins to build, you will have plenty of interested leads to work through and cultivate.

Next, we want to take the names or leads we have captured and CULTIVATE them. That's right, cultivate, like you would a garden or a good crop. Does a farmer plant seed and go out the next day and harvest what he has planted? Of course not! Our leads must be carefully brought along and cared for just as the farmer tends to his crops. Provide information and facts by personal e-mails; call them on the telephone, and mail. Find out about them. Listen to what they have to say and find out their particular Why. Make a friend; gain mutual trust. At this time you will make a decision to go the next step. Expose them to your product and/or opportunity. I am not saying you have to drag things out for weeks. You will usually have a pretty good idea of their interest level very quickly. The worst mistakes you can make is trying to push for a decision like the typical car salesman, you know, "What's it gonna take to get you on the road in this baby TODAY?”. Network marketing is a people business; others must trust you and like you to do business with you. I am not advocating being friendly just to gain business. Be genuine. Be yourself. Warning: Do not involve anyone in your business that you would not want to work with closely. Remember, during this cultivate phase you are choosing your future business partners.

Third, it is time to CLOSE. Although it is important not to rush people, do not be afraid to ask for their business. After several exposures to the product and/or opportunity create a sense of urgency. Urgency will filter out prospects that are not ready. Timing is a vital element in this process. Some people will ride along forever, screening phone calls, deleting e-mails, just to avoid telling you no. Many will be fence riders, unable to make a decision either way. Others just need to be asked to sign up. The only thing holding them up is that you have not asked for their business. Ask! The worst thing they can do is say "no". If that is the case, you are free to move on to the next prospect.

Finally, we want to COACH each and every one of our new business partners. Duplication is the fastest, most reliable way to build your business. You cannot duplicate people but you can duplicate systems. Your training system will teach your new partner how to move their new team members to action. Don’t let your team fend for themselves. Teach them what you have learned through trial and error and study. Lead by example. If you as the team leader are enjoying success and having fun, others will follow your lead. Some will sign up and never do anything. Others will work diligently for a short time but when they do not see immediate results, they'll quit. But then there is that few, that precious few, who want success as badly as you do. The team members with vision, with dreams are the ones who will make all your time and effort worthwhile. The team members who are coach-able and willing to follow your proven system are your stars, the ones who will build and expand their business and in doing so make your business a huge success. You see, if we help others reach their dreams, we can't help but reach ours.

You can have everything in life that you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want. Zig Ziglar

The 7 Worst Marketing Article Mistakes and How to Fix Them

Are you disappointed in the results your articles are generating? Are you spending a lot of time and energy but not getting results? Do your articles target the right audience? Is anyone reading your articles?
If you answered NO, you need this report. Get your articles read, your readers responding, and your business growing.
Correct these typical marketing article blunders and watch your business soar.

Words do two major things: They provide food for the
mind and create light for understanding and awareness.
Jim Rohn

7 Common Article Blunders:

1. Failure to use a catchy title - the headline and article summary must grab and keep the reader’s attention. Use keywords and phrases; let your reader know in a snap what they will gain by reading the article.

2. Attempting to disguise sales copy as quality content - hype, bragging and self-promotion. Write winning content that will set you apart from the competition and build a reputation as a credible and competent expert.

3. Creating paragraphs that are too long - use short paragraphs and sentences. Utilize white space to make the article easy to read.

4. Making your article too broad or superficial in content. Each article should cover a specific topic. It is better to define a single point.

5. Not solving a problem or offering dated, worthless content - are you delivering information that is valuable to your reader? Deliver indispensable content and solve their problem. Write from your unique perspective, do not publish a “me too” article.

6. Omitting a call to action. Each article should have one purpose and one most wanted response. Do not send mixed messages with multiple options or confusing copy.

7. Neglecting to include a bio box and link to your website – access is paramount online. Build trust and familiarity by sharing information that allows readers to know you and connect with you. Don’t overlook the importance of access.

Today’s marketers must create, distribute, and promote valuable content geared to their target market. Begin today to execute content marketing programs.
Start with the basics: Help them solve a problem and deliver it in a format that will help your reader succeed.

First Steps to MLM Success

Let's face it, most network marketers don't make it. Why? Because they are like search lights out there prospecting in their boats in stormy seas, trying to save people from financial ruin one person at a time. We teach you how to do it differently. We teach you how to become a Lighthouse Marketer, attracting people into your business.

OK, here it is. Absolutely free information, real information, First Steps to getting started successfully in your MLM business.

PART I – Find the best company for you.

First, the most important thing is to find a company that is right for you. You have to ask yourself several questions. Does the product stand-alone? If there were no financial opportunity would you still use the product? Do people want it? Will they use? Is it a unique product or just a passing fad? Is it consumable? In other words is it a one-time buy or are your customers going to use it up and buy it over and over again? Can you honestly tell people this product has improved your life?

Second, is the company solid? How long have they been around? Are they financially stable? Are they here to stay, and what background and experience to the leaders have? In this business, reputation and honesty can be, should be, everything.

Third, is it affordable to the average person? Let's face it, there are many great companies out there, but when you have to write a check for $500 to $2000 just to get started, that seriously limits recruiting. People will often put up $35 to $50 for a product and opportunity, but when you start asking for hundreds or even thousands of dollars, that is a
different story entirely. Don't misunderstand me. I am not saying that some of these companies are not great. I'm just saying that it seriously limits your participating audience. Believe me, I have been there.

Fourth, does the company provide the tools for you to succeed? Is great training provided for free on a regular basis? Are there things like frequent live training calls, replicated websites, affordable account managing tools that provide such services as auto-e-mail responding and lead tracking? Can you build a down line using the Internet and train your new recruits
over the phone and on your company website, or does everything have to be done in person? Believe me, person to person is a great way to do business. It is just not practical any longer in this business. Weekly hotel meetings, home parties, or just going from friends house to friends house with a DVD are things of the past. Not only will you probably not be very successful at your business, but your friends and family will start to avoid you. Take my word for it. Been there.

There are many aspects to success in the MLM business, but first and foremost, find a great company with:
1.Products that are consumable
2.Solid Foundation
3.Affordability to all
4.The Tools to do the job

PART II - Invest in yourself.

Once you find the right company, you need to work on yourself. Get your mind right. The best way to start educating yourself is by reading. Read one chapter a day from a list of recommended self-help or motivational books. One chapter a day isn't hard to do and it is retained easier than trying to cram in as much as possible. At the end of a year, you will have absorbed a vast amount of knowledge that can be invaluable to your life and to your business.

Be a listener. Make it a point to listen to a successful person for at least 20 minutes a day. It can be a CD, DVD, or a live or recorded training call, any source of information to help further educate you in your marketing venture. Twenty minutes a day is very easy to do. Everyone spends at least that much time driving or riding in a car every day. Put that CD
player to good use.

Every ninety days or so get out and see a live speaker. There are always inspiring speakers appearing somewhere for relatively little money. If you live in a small town where this never happens, make a weekend of it! Take a group or simply a companion and go to the big city, eat some good food, attend the event, and soak it all in. Nothing is quite as inspiring and
motivating as a live event full of successful people sharing their story.

These three things are so very easy to do. They are even easier not to do. Everyday you are either moving forward or falling back. You decide. You have to commit. I have seen so many people get into this business thinking it is going to be easy money. Haven't we all been to those hotel or dining room meetings where the guy making a million dollars tells everyone how easy it is and how by just sharing this idea with a few friends and family, he became financially independent, and debt free and how he and everyone else there is going to help you do the same thing!

It is easy to see why so many people get into this business, spend hundreds, even thousands of dollars, thinking it is a get-rich-quick plan. Why, you would think it is damn near like hitting the lottery! WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!

Nothing worth having is given to you. That includes your business and your down line. It all falls on you. It is your business. You have to build it. You are responsible for its success or failure. Don't misunderstand me. It is not difficult. It just takes a determination and effort and a stick-to-it attitude that many people simply do not have or do not realize they need and they soon quit and fall by the wayside when success is not immediate. Think of it like this. Many people spend the majority of their life building a successful business. The bigger and more successful their business becomes, the harder they have to work and more of their time is required. If you will diligently work and market a good MLM product, within a relatively short period of time, you can build a business with a down line that will provide you with a comfortable income for the rest of your life while you put in just a few hours a week. Depending on your perseverance and willingness to work, you can become financially independent with time freedom in a one to five year period. Just seek out the seekers and leave the non-believers to go along their merry way.

There are many good people out there who are willing to help you. You just have to find them. There are also many out there who say they will help you, but in the end, just want to sell you something. Be careful. These companies are like everything else. They range from down right lousy to great. Be wise. Ask questions. If the answers to all your questions are vague or are always answered with another question, run the other way. It's OK if the other person doesn't know all the answers as long as they can tell you where to find them. A knowledgeable, helpful up line is invaluable. I know that if I help my team succeed, the rest will take care of itself. Happy marketing!
